Six Harrisburg School District PA State GEAR UP teachers participated in a workshop on February 21, 2004 at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg to help them prepare for the Science and Social Studies Middle Level PRAXIS exam. They will join five other middle level teachers who took the workshop in November in preparation for the exam.

The workshop, provided by the PA State GEAR UP Project and instructed by Shippensburg University of PA Education Department faculty, Professor Andrea Malmont and Dr. Randall Pellow, offered a day-long session that includes test-taking strategies, types of questions to expect on the PRAXIS exams, and content information and supplementary materials to assist the teachers in their preparation for the March 6th examination.

PA State GEAR UP provided books on science and social studies content for middle schools for each participant in the workshop.
